Lemurian Ascent Trail Run

Set on the forested slopes of the Mt. Shasta Ski Park, the Lemurian Ascent Trail Run is a ski‑area trail run built around sustained climbing, flowing descents, and repeated efforts across the mountain. The course uses a mix of ski trails, service roads, and singletrack to create a challenging but runnable experience through the Ski Park.

The Courses

Long Course

The long course covers approximately 14–15 miles with over 3,000 feet of elevation gain and is designed to showcase the full vertical profile of the ski area. Runners will climb to the top of each chairlift, linking all major lift‑served areas of the Ski Park before descending back toward the base area.

Expect big ascents, wide‑open mountain views, and long, runnable descents as the course moves from lift to lift across the mountain.

Shorter Course Options

Shorter course options will be available for runners looking for a more approachable experience. This roughly 5k route still captures the spirit of the event with a significant climb and descent, going to the top of Marmot, our beginner-friendly lift.

Race Day Experience

The Lemurian Ascent Trail Run takes place during our first Community Day of the summer, creating a relaxed, welcoming mountain atmosphere. Scenic chairlift rides, yard games, food, and the bar will be open throughout the day, making it easy to turn race day into a full day at the mountain for runners, friends, and family.

The race will be professionally timed, with clearly marked courses and fully supported aid stations.
