It is advisable to book a ski/snowboard lesson in advance on our website here. If sold out online, walk-ups may be available on a first-come, first-serve basis. We DO NOT take over-the-phone reservations; however, you can call the Ski and ride School office at 530-926-8619 around 3pm the day before you plan to visit to find out if there are lesson slots available for the next day. To reserve lessons the day of, we encourage you to get here early (7:30-7:45 am) to ensure you’re one of the first customers in line.

The Ski and Ride School offers group lessons in levels 1-4 and private lessons in levels 1-6 for both skiers and snowboarders.

A lesson package includes a day lift ticket, rentals and the lesson type of your choosing.
A complimentary Surface/Marmot lift ticket is included with each lesson. Level 4 students are encouraged to purchase an All-Mountain lift ticket separately.

You are able to reserve your rentals in advance here or purchase your rental gear in person.

Private lessons are available for children 3+ years old and group lessons are available for children 5+ years old.

All participants taking a lesson must check in with the Ski & Ride School staff between 8–9 AM. Arrive at your lesson site by 9:45 AM for morning lessons or 12:45 PM for afternoon lessons. Lessons start promptly at 10 AM and 1 PM. Late check-ins (after 9 AM) will not be added to the roll call list.

Go to our Ski and Ride School kiosk located in the Base area, directly across from Rentals, from there the Ski and Ride School staff will instruct you on where to go for your lesson meet-up location.

Bring all necessary equipment you will need to either ski or snowboard. Make sure you are wearing the proper attire for the specific weather of that day. Not sure what you need to wear? Visit this page to see our recommended list of what items to bring for a visit to the Ski Park.

We recommend lessons to skiers and boarders of all levels but especially to beginners. Having proper technique when beginning any new sport helps build confidence in your ability and is a great tool for mitigating frustration when learning a new skill.
